Last month, over 100 international MICE professionals came to Ireland for what was an incredibly successful familiarisation trip. Organised by 13 ITOA (Incoming Tour Operator Association) DMCs and Fáilte Ireland, the aim of this fam trip was to showcase Ireland as a superior MICE destination.

Upon arrival in Dublin, guests visited a range of venues such as the RDS, The Marker Hotel, and Teeling Distillery and checked into their city centre hotels. A welcome reception was held in Powerscourt Townhouse, with a spectacular entertainment show featuring the best of Irish music, song and dance. Following on from this, guests dined in some of Dublin’s best restaurants – Bang, Cleaver East, Drury Buildings, Eden Bar & Grill and the Pig’s Ear.
The next morning it was time to talk business, and both the international buyers and the Irish trade descended on the Royal Hibernian Academy for a morning of networking and exchanging information on Ireland as a MICE destination. In the afternoon guests got the chance to discover Dublin in a unique way, with a Meet the City smart phone trail around the city.

That evening, a stunning gala event was held in the historic Christ Church Cathedral (which went green for the occasion!), where guests were enthralled by world class entertainment from the Christ Church Choir and Affiniti. Church Choir and Affiniti.

Guests also got to experience greyhound racing, food trails, hurling, whiskey distillery visits and lots more on post-fam trips along the superb Wild Atlantic way.
